Ms. O’Leary’s fourth class worked very hard on their books during February and March!

Here we are with the books that we wrote! The hard work paid off!!

Our books will be swapped with other schools in Tallaght so we can read books written by other children in fourth class! Here we are with our finished books! We are very proud of them

This month we are learning about many interesting topics in Science and History.

We are learning about the famine in History and all about our body in Science.

Did you know that the FEMUR in your leg is the longest bone in your body??

Did you know that the average man ate 70 potatoes a day and the average woman ate 50 potatoes??? That’s a lot of potatoes!!!

Ms Foley’s class are doing Paint this month in Art. We have also been listening to some classical music in Music so we decided it would be a fantastic idea to combine both.
We got in groups of 4 and each child had their own colour paint and brush. The object of the excerise was listen to the music and to draw patterns to the rythm of the music!! Each child has to be carful not to go over any of the lines or patterns drawn by their friend.

Have a look at the pictures outside Miss Foley’s room. They’re fantastic !!!

Last Wednesday, 29th February we had a very special visitor to our school: THE GREEN SCHOOL’S INSPECTOR!!

The Green Team made a fantastic job in making her feel welcome and showing her around the school. She looked at our Green Schools Noticeboard, our classroom bins and asked the Green Team lots of questions. She then visited some classrooms and spoke to some of the children about recycling. Ms Donnellan’s class told her about their classroom ‘dump’which was inspired by a visit from South Dublin County Council.

She said we had made a tremendous effort in trying to get the Green Flag and would be writing us a very good report. We will find out in the next few weeks whether or not we have got the Green Flag.

In the meantime, keep up the good work everyone and keep RECYCLING 🙂

Before Mid-term week Ms Foley’s class were looking at the different parts of plants. We dissected the lillies into different parts and labelled each part of the flower. We never knew that a flower had so many parts! We learned all about the flower and what attracts the bees to it. See the pictures below !!!
