6th class are also experimenting - this one shows the difference between "soluble and insoluble" - Rice and sand sank to the bottom and are still visible - they are insoluble, Coffee, gravy and flour changed the colour of the water - they are soluble and suspended in the water. Sugar and salt disappeared and are now invisible - they are soluble - 5th classes did an experiment like this one too.

This experiment shows condensation - when we breathed water vapour on the cold glass the vapour cooled and became liquid - CONDENSATION

In this experiment we used the marbles to show how molecules in the different states of matter behave - the solid bag of marbles behaved like the molecules in a solid. the liquid bag of marbles could move around - like the molecules in a liquid, and the loose marbles in the gas bag could bounce around freely like a gas

Ms Scullion organised for all of the 5th classes to take part in the 2015 Peace Proms concert in the RDS yesterday. After months of rehearsal, the children finally took to the stage and sang their hearts out. The day was filled with lots of music, dance and fun. Ms O’Hanlon kindly organised a bus and many parents also attended the concert and had a fabulous day. Many thanks to the 5th class teachers, Ms O’Flaherty, Ms Allen and Ms Ní Almhain for their help on the day.
